Because of limited
funds, there is a moratorium on Priority Three, education scholarships. Also, North American
Scholarships are granted at $100.00 and International Mission
Scholarships are granted $200.00
CBA SCHOLARSHIPS
Carolina Baptist
Association has been blessed with financial resources for missions and
ministry grants to cooperating churches. Grants are distributed on a
NEED basis according to the following priority guidelines:
Priority
One-Camp Scholarships
Assistance for children
who attend a CBA church to participate at a Christian camp. Grants are limited to $150 per child, per
year (not to exceed 1/2 the cost of camp)
Priority
Two-Volunteer Mission and Ministry Efforts
Missions and ministry
efforts to churches of CBA or their members.
NORTH AMERICAN mission
trips are limited to 1/3 the cost of the trip per person, but not to
exceed $250. Maximum per church is $1,000 per effort/project.
INTERNATIONAL mission
trips are limited to 1/3 the cost of the trip per person, but not to exceed
$500. Maximum per church is $2,000 per effort/project.
One grant per person, per
calendar year.
Priority
Three-Ministry Education
Assistance for members of
cooperating churches who are called, and in training for, the gospel
ministry (not to exceed $500.00 per student, per year).
Applications must come from and be VOTED on
by a CBA church and be in the association office by the first Monday of
each month to be considered by the association council on the third
Monday. All requests will be prayerfully considered on a case by
case basis and are subject to approval of the council.
Scholarships should only be requested if a financial need exists.
It is the responsibility of the church/pastor to confirm this need.
Scholarships are for the applicant only.
If not used for the approved purpose the funds are to be returned.
If the purpose/intent changes, please call the association office as soon
as possible for consideration/approval of changes.
Pastors, please use your ministerial
integrity when you sign your name to each application. Financial
assistance was originally intended to be used on a need basis.
Please evaluate each person separately and be sure that each person
needs the funds. We need to be cautious to protect the
scholarship fund.
