More Projects through Baptist on Mission

Operation Bandanas-Soldier's Psalm 91
An ongoing ministry to servicemen to offer inspiration, encouragement, strength and comfort.  Camouflage bandana's are purchased in bulk for $3 each with Psalm 91 printed on them.  These bandanas are given to servicemen and women by chaplainss to spread the gospel and are useful to cover their face from the sand and dust; are used for sweat rags; used for an emergency wrap for a splint, sling or tourniquet.  This is an easy way for us to show our appreciation and minister to those who are putting their life in harms way for America.  Please write a check to Carolina Baptist Association and earmark it: Operation Bandana.  If you have any questions or would like some to come to speak at your church call Annette Heatherly at 828-290-2584.  Visit www.operationbandanas.org to learn more about the Psalm 21 bandana ministry.

Literature Collection
Bring your used Sunday school literature, devotionals and VBS materials, Bibles, and minister writings/books to the Association.  This is an ongoing collection.

Materials are taken to the NC Mission warehouse in Shelby then to the Book-Link warehouse in KY where they will then be shipped to Zimbabwe and India.

Women's Prison Project
Each Christmas women from all across North Carolina provide gifts to fill approximately 1,500 red boxes to be given to women inmates at NC Correctional Center for Women.  For many of these women our gift is all they receive.  As one woman told us, "Your gift has been the only gift I receive at Christmas.  It's the highlight of my Christmas." Each year we collect one item, usually something like deodorant, chapstick, candy, etc.

If you would like to help with this project, we need the item (will be decided later) and/or money at the association office by the second Wednesday in October.

If you have any questions call Annette Heatherly at 828-290-2584
