Girls Embrace Ministry
Girls Embrace Ministry, GEM, is a ministry of the Baptist State Convention of NC that seeks to encourage seventh through twelfth grade girls to walk with Christ in their everyday circumstances and begin building a legacy of faithfulness.
What does it mean to be a GEM?  Gems come in all different shapes and sizes, cuts and colors.  Despite the variety, these stones are considered precious and extremely valuable.
However, gems endure much treatment before they reach this state.  Often gems begin as rocks and through a refining process, emerge as a very precious & coveted stone.
Girls Embrace Ministry desires for seventh through twelfth grade girls to understand that they are precious in God's sight and He desires to shape and mold them to be used for His kingdom.  Girls Embrace Ministry teaches and trains teenage girls and their leaders in evangelism, discipleship and missions.

Bethlehem Toy Store
December 7, 2012
An annual ministry of Carolina Baptist Association to children of families that cannot provide Christmas gifts due to financial difficulties. Because of you, last year we ministered to 49 families and provided Christmas gifts to 108 children!

We have a toy drive in July and collect NEW toys for children ages birth to 16.  If your church is interested bring toys to the Association office in August.  Office hours are M-Th, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. We also take gift cards and money to buy toys.

Of course, we will accept toys anytime during the year.  Toys are distributed the first Friday in December.  We also need help with distribution and witnessing.

If you would like to have someone come to your church and speak about the Bethlehem Toy Store call Annette Heatherly at 828-290-2584.

Women's Prison Project
Each Christmas women from all across North Carolina provide gifts to fill approximately 1,500 red boxes to be given to women inmates at NC Correctional Center for Women.  For many of these women our gift is all they receive.  As one woman told us, "Your gift has been the only gift I receive at Christmas.  It's the highlight of my Christmas." Each year we collect one item, usually something like deodorant, chapstick, candy, etc.

If you would like to help with this project, we need the item (will be decided later) and/or money at the association office by the second Wednesday in October.

If you have any questions call Annette Heatherly at 828-290-2584
