CHURCH NEWS
Christ Covenant has moved from the storefront at 420 Kanuga to 2065 N. Main St.  They also changed their name to Christ Covenant Community Church (They are still a Southern Baptist Church).  They also have a counseling ministry.
FBC East Flat Rock will celebrate their 100 yr. anniversary in September, 2009.  They are in the process of taking orders for a walkway made of bricks with engraved names in honor or in memory of their church members.  If you are interested in purchasing a brick, please contact the church office at 692-0765.  Order by May 31st.
Fruitland is going to Baltimore, Maryland from July 3 - 11, 2009 for their summer mission trip.  If anyone would like to join them on this trip, please call the church office at 685-8990 for more information.  If you have questions or concerns, you can also call Pastor Michael Smith at 606-4631.
Liberty celebrated their 161st church anniversary on March 22, 2009 and celebrated 25 years of ministry with their pastor, Rev. O.D. Rhodes. 
Fruitland and Ebenezer present Mike Speck in Concert, Sunday, April 26, 6:00 p.m. at Fruitland Baptist Church.  All are welcome!  A combined choir will rehearse at 4:00 p.m.
Main Street is hosting the WMU Annual meeting, Tuesday, May 5, 7:00 p.m., "The Word is coming to Us."
Mountain View came to do some work for the Association, thank you!
Mud Creek - 3rd annual barbecue cook off, May 16 - setup, May 17, judging and awards.  Trophies and prizes will be awarded in all categories.  There is also a dessert competition, too!  Call 698-9704 or 674-7440.
Refuge - Rev. Alvin Melton wants to thank all the churches that prayed for his wife, Vicky.  She is recovering from surgery and is doing well.

ASSOCIATION HELP - The please for help in our last newsletter were answered by various churches.  We are so thankful to everyone who helped.  We do, however, have one more volunteer job need; we need to have gutter guards installed on the garage.  The association will pay for the materials.  Please call 693-4274 if you can help with this project.

LETTER CARRIER FOOD DRIVE, Saturday, May 9th.  The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 9th is the day to place a bag of non-perishable foods by your mail box.  One third collected will go to IAM, one third to the Salvation Army and one third to MANNA Food Bank.

OPERATION BANDANA - SOLDIER'S PSALM 91 The Associational WMU has started a new on-going ministry to servicemen to offer inspiration, encouragement, strength and comfort.  Camouflage bandana's are purchased in bulk for $3 each with Psalm 91 printed on them.  These bandana's are given to service men and women by chaplains to spread the gospel and are useful to cover their face from the sand and dust; are used for sweat rags; used for an emergency wrap for a splint, sling or tourniquet.  This is an easy way for us to show our appreciation and minister to those who are putting their life in harms way for America.  Please write a check to Carolina Baptist Association and earmark it:  Operation Bandana.  If you have any questions, call Annette Heatherly at 290-2584.  Visit www.operationbandanas.org to learn more about the Psalm 21 bandana ministry.

REACH UP TOUR We had over 500 in attendance and 25 professions of faith.  Thanks to all who helped organize and all the volunteers. 
SCHOLARSHIPS GRANTED There were 25 camp and 1 mission scholarships granted in March, 2009.
THANK YOU! to Boyce, Roy and Juanita Brogden.  They came to the Carolina Baptist Association to fix some plumbing and electrical problems we have been having in the building.  Also, thank you to Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church.  They came to the Association and washed windows, cleaned out the garage, and cleaned out the gutters on the garage.
USED CHRISTIAN LITERATURE Carolyn Lawton will be taking used Sunday school literature, devotionals, Bibles, etc. to Luke 19:10 Ministries in mid January.  Please make contact with Carolyn at 693-1076 before that time if you have materials you would like her to deliver.
