MAIN STREET BAPTIST CHURCH
CORE VALUES

1.  Bible-centered Teaching Ministry - Believing God's Word to be the trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians, we strive to communicate it with integrity and authority so that many will come to know Christ and believers will grow in Him.

2.  Godly Leadership - We believe the men and women in leadership positions in our church should affirm biblical teachings and be models of righteousness to all in the community.

3.  The Lordship of Christ - With faithful human leadership in place, we recognize that Christ is the Head of the Church, and that in every activity of the church He is to be honored as Savior, Guide and Friend.

4.  Prayer - The ministries of the church will be characterized by a reliance on prayer in their conception, planning, and implementation.  We value prayer as a means of ministering to others in their times of need.

5.  God's Grace - Inasmuch as we believe that God unconditionally accepts believers through Christ, we attempt to motivate people through love and thankfulness rather than through guilt, shame, and duty.

6.  Praise and Worship - We affirm God's holiness, love and sovereignty and we regularly celebrate His presence in our lives through authentic and relevant forms of choral and instrumental praise.

7.  Giving - In response to the goodness of God, we joyfully and lovingly give of our treasures and material possessions for the good of others and the propagation of the good news of Christ.

8.  Sense of Community - We ask all our people to commit to and fully participate in biblically functioning small groups where they may reach the lost, exercise their gifts, be shepherded, and thus grow in Christlikeness.
