About Iglesia Bautista Agua Viva
Iglesia Bautista Agua Viva is a
Spanish speaking church. Ministries are available in English also.
Our desire is to share the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ with the Hispanic
community and to respond to other needs they may have. Worship style is
mainly traditional with various styles of music including Mexican folk music.
The church started as a ministry of the Carolina Baptist Association in
1980. Bible study was held at First Baptist Church intil 1985 when Mt.
Moriah Baptist Church allowed the use of their facilities for Sunday afternoon
Bible study and worship and Thursday nights prayer meetings. The first
full time pastor was called in August, 1995. In 1996 the State
Convention loaned the mission a mobile unit which was placed at Mt. Moriah.
A building fund was started in July, 1996 and the first of three phases was
completed and services started in the new building on January 13, 1990.
The second phase of the building was completed in 1992. The church
continues to be active leading Bible study classes at several churches and
camps during the harvest season and supports an annual mission trip to Bozos
Mexico, together with several churches in the Association.
