About Pleasant Grove
Purpose: To worship God, the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ. In doing so, we will provide regular opportunities for
public worship that we may promote the ordinances, doctrines and ethics set
forth in the New Testament for the church of our Lord Jesus Christ; to nurture
its members through a program of Christian education; to channel its offerings
to the support of the ministries, which God has led us to do and preach and
spread among all people the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was organized on October
29, 1859. The original meeting site was near the old school in the
Pleasant Grove community. There were nine members. The church
moved to its present meeting site on August 29, 1912 with the completion of a
new sanctuary. Several changes and improvements have been made to the
building and grounds since that time. Church membership has grown to
over 200. The church was incorporated in 1998.
About the Pastor
Married to Betty, two grown children. A native of
Transylvania County. Enjoy fishing. Been in the ministry for 43
years.
