THE TOP TEN THINGS YOUR
MINISTER WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU DO |
1.
Affirm and encourage your minister.
2.
Give your minister and family uninterrupted time off.
3.
Do your part in the ministry of the church in obedience to the Father's
will.
4.
Give a gift of travel. Send your minister and spouse on a trip to
spend time together. On a special occasion, pay for a trip to a
vacation place they've always wanted to go.
5.
Pray for, defend and support your minister.
6.
Show appreciation to your minister's family.
7.
Make sure your minister is adequately paid...consider ALL financial needs.
8.
Surprise your minister with spontaneous gestures of appreciation.
9.
Give an announced day off.
10.
Understand that your minister and family are human and have needs just
like you.
Too
often congregations take pastors for granted. Some church members
may never express their appreciation to them. Yet your ministers
need to hear expressions of thankfulness and love from their congregation.
"40 Ways to Say Thanks to Your Minister" is filled with practical ways
individuals, families, and congregations can minister to those who
minister to them. These ideas came from ministers themselves and the
text is directed towards ministers, but can easily be adapted for all
church staff ministers. To order a copy of "40 Ways to Say Thanks to
Your Minister" call 1-800-395-5102, ext 331.
